Sadr Tamin Co. Celebrates Imam Reza (AS) Birth Anniversary

Tehran- Sadr Tamin Investment Company hosted the board of directors’ members, senior managers and employees to mark the auspicious birth anniversary of the eight Shia Imam Reza (AS) on 11th Dhu al-Qa’dah (May 31) and Ten Days of Dignity.

Ten Days of Dignity is designated to celebrate a period between the birth anniversaries of Fatemeh Masumeh (SA), the sister of the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims, and Imam Reza (AS), her brother. The shrine of Fatemeh Masumeh (SA) in Qom is the second holiest site in Iran after the shrine of the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims Reza (AS) in Mashhad. Iranians celebrated Ten Days of Dignity on May 21-31 this year.

Hojjat al-Islam Ali Karimi delivered a religious address about Islamic values and teachings and Sajjad Khosrow was Maddah (religious signer or eulogist) of the May-31 ceremony, which was hosted by the company (known by stock ticker symbol TASSICO).

Hojjat al-Islam Karimi, in his sermon, preached about virtues of the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), saying that Imam Reza (AS) pledged to visit those who go on a pilgrimage to his shrine at three times; when they were taking the last breath, on the first night after their burials and on the day of reckoning, TASSICO’s news website reported.  

Hojjat al-Islam Karimi, who is a member of the Cultural Council of the company, wished all his colleagues and their families be blessed with a pilgrimage to the shrine of Imam Reza (AS).

Ali ibn Musa al-Rida, known as Imam Reza (AS), was born on 11th Dhu al-Qa’dah 148 AH (January 1, 766). A descendant of Muslim prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Reza is the eight Imam in Twelver Shia Islam. He succeeded his father Imam Musa al-Kazim (AS), who was martyred by the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid. Mother of Imam Reza was Ummul Banin Najmeh, known also as Toktam.

Imam Reza was martyred in 183 AH (818) by the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid in Tus (present-day Mashhad). The Imamate of Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (AS) was 20 years of which the last three years were in Khorasan, Iran. His first 17 years of Imamate were in Medina.
