MAPNA, CPS Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Have Strategic Cooperation
Tehran- Shahid Bahonar Copper Ind. Co. (CPS) and MAPNA Group Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Saturday, June 3 to work for improving joint scientific and technological activities and research.
The joint cooperation is set to make the country self-sufficient in copper parts and alloys and help these two Iranian industrial giants increase outputs.
Copper is a key metal for products that are being manufactured by MAPNA, public relations of Shahid Bahonar Copper Ind. Co. reported. The MoU was signed by managing directors of both companies as well as Mohammad-Javad Maghsoudi, a member of board of directors of Bahonar Copper Company.
The agreement singles out other goals such as launch and strengthening of joint research and development working group to remove obstacles in production and make progress in other sectors including manufacturing new knowledge-based products.
The six-article MoU has missioned the two companies to outline joint operational research plans and pave the groundwork for utilization of equipment and human resources of the two leading industrial groups by each other.
Mohammad-Reza Shakeri, managing director of MAPNA Generator Engineering & Manufacturing Company (PARS), referred that he used to work in Shahid Bahonar Copper Ind. Co., terming the company’s development and dynamism as significant.
He said that 88 percent of parts used for manufacturing generators in MAPNA was being produced by domestic producers, promising that the figure would reach 100 percent.
On the sideline of the ceremony, Majid Ziaie, chief executive of CPS, praised MAPNA as a leading Iranian company with operations out of Iran which played an effective role in reconstruction of regional countries such as Syria and Iraq.
He referred to the country’s growing electricity consumption, adding that Shahid Bahonar Copper Company boast the required infrastructure to produce parts for MAPNA-manufactured generators.
“Such [production] will not only add value but also pave the groundwork for exports of new parts and pieces directly or as major industrial machineries,” Ziaie noted.
Other obligations by the MoU include regular meetings should be held to discuss priorities and knowledge-based needs and remove problems, visits to both factories and sites should be planned and both sides must share public and exclusive facilities such as labs and academic and scientific resources.
Both parties should jointly hold visits, educational courses, research activities to help prioritize problems, find development needs and fund mutually-agreed projects.
Deputy innovation, development and knowledge economy of Shahid Bahonar Copper Ind. Co. pledged is to supervise the whole process to achieve the goals.
