Iran Refractories Company

Iran Refractories Company

Iran Refractories Company was established in February 1972, in order to meet the country’s needs for various types of refractory products. The company’s nominal capacity was initially 32,000 tons per year, and it officially started operating in April 1977. After the Islamic Revolution, however, due to the growing needs of the domestic industries for self-sufficiency, as well as to prevent the outflow of foreign currency, development plans were launched and production was started for products such as alkaline and carbon magnesite bricks. The production capacity of alkaline bricks is 22,000 tons per year, and for carbon magnesite bricks, the production capacity is 20,000 tons per year.

The company is supported by some of the most advanced production technology equipment available, as well as many years of experience; and by using the highest quality raw materials, the company is able to produce a large variety of high-quality refractory products. These products are even competitive to those that have been produced abroad, and the company is capable of meeting much of the needs of the large steel, cement, copper, aluminum, petrochemical and other domestic industries abroad, as well. Specifically, Iran Refractories Company is able to supply various types of refractory products needed in the high-temperature furnaces of these industries; and it has since generated significant exports to many countries around the world — while forming a well-established position in the regional markets.

Iran Refractories Company has achieved ISO 2000: 9001 global standards certification from the German DQS Institute, and it has since even further improved the quality of its products, resulting in further increases in market share, and growing exports to the global markets.
