CEO & Senior Managers of Sadr Tamin Holding Visit Site of Iran Glass Wool Factory in SEZ
Tehran- Amir-Hossein Naderi, CEO of Sadr Tamin Investment Company (TASSICO), paid a visit to the construction site of Iran Glass Wool factory on Tuesday, September 12 in Shiraz as he was accompanied with the senior managers of the holding.
In a brief meeting with managers and contractors of the project following the visit, managing director and vice-chairman of the board of directors of TASSICO said that Iran Glass Wool Company was supplying 70 percent of the country’s consumption with an annual production of 20m square meters (10,000 tons) of glass wool now, stressing that the country’s needs were far more than the amount.
“One of the reasons for launching this project is that the factory of Iran Glass Wool Company is more than 50 years old, which has caused its production line not to meet today’s demand due to its wear and tear,” he explained, the Public Relations of Iran Glass Wool Company reported.
The holding decided to make new investment in the Iran Glass Wool Company in the southern Fars province due to the mentioned reasons, Naderi noted, explaining that as a result, not only the needs of the market would be met but also the old worn-out production line would become more efficient.
In this line, he said, the location of the site was identified and the required investments were made by the shareholders and the construction of the new factory had got underway. “Insha’Allah (God willing), we hope the collection (factory) will become operational in the middle of the next year (March 20, 2024-March 20, 2025),” the chief executive predicted.
He added that most of the required equipment had been made domestically, and the installation and commissioning engineering had also made good progress. “We expect glass wool colleagues to do their best to speed up the progress of the project,” Naderi urged.
Naderi emphasized that with the completion of this project, Iran Glass Wool Company would have a suitable product to supply in and out of the country, which would bring in hard currency.
The CEO of Sadr Tamin Holding reiterated the importance of localization, hoping that the next production lines would follow the localization of this product.
After briefing the visiting delegation on the progress of the project, Jahangir Bagheri, CEO of Iran Glass Wool Company, explained that the project to develop the glass wool production line with the construction of a factory, in an area of eight hectares and with a capacity of 14,000 tons per year in the special economic zone (SEZ) of Shiraz, was put on the agenda to supply glass wool for domestic needs and production for the export.
He added that contracts were concluded with three separate companies to construct and install the heat tunnel (as practical completion (PC)) and batching plant and to implement the infrastructure measures as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). Jahangiri said that average progress of the total operation of the three companies had been 8.42 percent so far.
The plan to move polluting industries out of the cities was defined in the country’s environmental laws, said the chief executive of Iran Glass Wool Company, adding that therefore, it was decided the polluting industrial units of Shiraz including the glass wool factory to be transferred out of the city.
