Labor Minister in Saadi Tile Factory Visit

Tehran- Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Minister Seyyed Solat Mortazavi paid a visit to Saadi Tile and Ceramic Company on Thursday April 6 (15th of Ramadhan), marking the auspicious birth anniversary of the second Imam of Shia Hasan al-Mujtaba (AS).

The minister was briefed on the latest investment and development projects on the factory during the visit. Ebrahim Bazian, managing director of Social Security Investment Company, Amir Hossein Naderi, managing director of Sadr Tamin Investment Company (TASSICO) and Massoud Esmkhani, managing director of Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company accompanied the minister during the visit, TASSICO news website reported.

Mortazavi expressed his best wishes to the laborers and their respected families on the start of the new Iranian year (March 21, 2023) and wished Allah accept prayers in the holy month of Ramadhan.

He also had honest talks with workers about salaries and wages, work environment, equipment, welfare affairs and monthly financial help from the government.

“The growth in production will help remove shortage of products,” Mortazavi said, adding that the officials were trying to supply raw materials sufficiently to be turned them into products (to add value) rather than selling them raw.

On efforts to materialize the slogan of the year (which is announced Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei every year) and boosting production, the minister said that he had no doubt the economic progress would continue strongly thanks to determination of all employees.

He explained that the growth in production which was announced by the supreme leader as the slogan of this year should be addressed by all the production units in the country. “The growth in production will definitely improve productivity while the productivity improvement will have a share in inflation control,” he added.

Transparency, Mortazavi said, was on the agenda of investment companies run under the auspices of the ministry, adding that offering their products in the capital market was one of the ways to be transparency. 

A number of the profitable companies had initial public offering (IPO) in the stock market, the minister said and noted that those firms, which could not sell their shares to the public yet, would join the capital market as soon as the obstacles were removed.

Naderi, TASSICO’s managing director, talked about the latest investment situation of Sadr Tamin Investment Company, its development projects, more synergy among subsidiaries and its support for production.

Meanwhile, Amir Parwal, chief executive of Saadi Tile Factory, briefed the visitors on the production rate, livelihood of the workers, average wage and salary, development projects and the number of staff.   

Saadi Tile and Ceramic Factory is a subsidiary of Sadr Tamin Investment Company. It is one of Iran’s oldest tile factories, which was established in 1960 in southern Tehran, the capital. The factory is producing about 4m square meters of tiles and ceramics annually, which turns it to one of the successful producers of the field. The factory has been in Tehran Stock Exchange since 2006 under stock ticker symbol KASAADI.
